Renowned for our bold designs and stylishly versatile collections, Libra Interiors has been designing luxury homewares since 1972, but we wanted to share with you a little more about the team behind the scenes, what makes them special and what gives them joy in bringing you the very best of luxurious furniture and accessories.
Introducing: Dorota Stalmach-Obuchowicz, Libra Stylist
Q1. How would you describe your interior style design?
I am a huge fan of minimalism with a focus on beautiful natural materials.
A cool monochrome palette is my go to, it turns up the visual contrast and keeps things timeless.
My style lays somewhere between contemporary and loft design, where textures play the main part.
Q2. Do you have a favourite Libra product?
There is far too many to choose from! I am a huge fan of natural materials and textures.
Ceramics, stones and marbles are definitely my soft spot.
Oversized Skyline lamp (703168) has definitely stolen my heart. I absolutely adore the texture and the impact that it has in any space.
Our Shoreditch furniture collection will have to be mentioned here too. This range brings luxe and simplicity to the loft style. Combination of black metal frames with grey travisso is just ideal.
Q3. Where do you get your inspiration from?
I have a vast array of inspirations, from architectural icons and design to travels and nature. Colour, texture and materials draw my attention and are the foundation for every space that I create. You can also find me somewhere under a big stash of interior magazines!
Q4. What do you enjoy most about your work?
There is nothing more stimulating than the creative process!
Styling our showroom and photoshoots are definitely my top favourite moments. It is pretty rewarding seeing all the looks come together from the mood board right to the end result.
Q5. Can you share three tips for nailing a look?
Think texture, colour and balance.
When developing the space consider the harmony of colours, the contrast of materials and how those can work together. And as a golden rule: less is always more!
My tip: take one thing away before you leave your space set up.
Q6. What advice would you offer someone looking to break into the industry?
Be true to yourself, don’t have limits and share your passion for interiors. Find your confidence and immerse your world with all things design.
I’ve always been fascinated by the ways in which people make a house a home. My background is in design, so by combining spatial planning skills with design knowledge, meant that visualising a scheme came to me naturally. There is always so much to learn about interior design and newest trends, meaning you have to stay tuned and always be moving forward.
